The Fall Flair blog tour is here, and what a beautiful color palette it is. Jennifer Fulton designed this beautiful fabric line with earthy tones and fall colors. She designed this line for Lumin Fabrics. These beautiful batiks include shades of blue, gold, and orange. It includes 20 fabrics in these color palettes. It is reminiscent of a fall day and a moonlit evening. It invokes memories of a fall harvest with these deep rich colors. This line can be found at your local quilt store and is available now.
The blog tour includes several creators. Each creator made a table runner. I was inspired by the gold and blue hues of the fabric line. It reminded me of a moonlit evening sky. I selected several shades of blue to compliment the gold fabrics. I designed the table runner with varying sizes of blue and gold strips from 1 1/4", 2" and 2 1/2" wide and placed vertically and horizontally. I added appliqué circles (2", 3" and 4") to represent golden moons in the night sky. I used a blanket stitch for the appliquè. It takes on a modern look. The runner is 16" x 42".
I also made a second smaller table centerpiece with the remaining fabric. I sewed an 11" finished block and added sashing from the scrap fabric.
